Speaker's Title: Laurence M. Brill, Ph.D., Director, Large Molecule LCMS, BioAgilytix San Diego Event Overview: Liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution accurate mass mass spectrometry (LC-HRAM MS) is a useful tool with striking advances in the last two decades. It is a versatile technology with many applications in different fields (e.g., the pharmaceutical industry). However, the use of this technology remains limited due to challenges associated with asking the right scientific questions and using the right analytical tools. In this webinar, we will give an overview of several established LC-HRAM MS workflows and their applications. Parameters to improve the performance of these workflows will also be discussed. Among the many applications of LC-HRAM MS workflows, the ones we will touch on include small molecule analysis, biomarker discovery, small protein analysis, bottom-up (proteolysis-based) protein analysis, and intact mass analysis of several types. The targets of interest range from purified small molecules to whole phosphoproteomes. Through these workflows, valuable data and accurate results can be obtained to enable better understanding of target molecules. Key Learning Objectives: • Understand better why LC-HRAM MS is increasingly sensitive, fast and reproducible • Learn some useful methods for molecular identification and characterization, and how the data can be used in a quantitative fashion • Gain insights into the structural information that can be gleaned • Learn how to determine the variants and contaminants that are present Who Should Attend: • Scientists in pharmaceutical, chemical, clinical, contract research organization (CRO), university, and governmental laboratories • Those who wish to understand and use some recent, powerful analytical methods • Biologists who wish to understand and use analytical chemistry
