The event will begin with a screening of the award-winning documentary "Food Evolution." Narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson, the 52-minute long documentary takes a science-based look at the role of genetic engineering in meeting the goals of sustainable food production. Even more exciting is the expert panel discussion that follows. Panelists include Dr. Fred Gould (Distinguished Professor of Entomology at NCSU and member National Academy of Sciences), Dr. Michelle Schroeder Moreno (Professor of Agroecology and Organic Agriculture Expert at NCSU), and Dr. Anastasia Bodnar (Molecular Biologist and Science Communicator).
