Patients across North Carolina continue to struggle to access the care they rely on to manage symptoms and control their illness. Meanwhile, health insurers are increasingly adopting protocols that reduce access to care for patients and increase administrative burdens on providers.
To help raise awareness of the widespread impact of burdensome health insurer practices and encourage providers to take action on behalf of their patients, the North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) is holding an educational webinar.
Throughout the webinar, panelists will discuss how different insurer protocols can put necessary treatments out of reach for patients and require providers to navigate many administrative hurdles, such as step therapy and prior authorization. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about how they can engage on behalf of their patients to help address these insurance barriers to care.
The webinar will feature presentations and remarks from the following speakers:
Dr. Suneya Hogarty, DO, FACOI | Rheumatologist, Integrative Arthritis and Pain Consultants
