Improving Soft Skills to Thrive in the Bioscience Workplace presented by Dr. Brenda Summers, Director of Communications, NCBIO

Dr. Brenda Summers - NCBIO - first as a consultant and then as a staff member for more than 15 years.  She currently serves as Director of Communications and works with the NCBIO Biotech Manufacturers Forum on workforce issues including the current Window on the Workplace Survey. Previously, she was a consultant, executive director and volunteer with nonprofits and not-for-profit organizations. She also worked with academic institutions to strengthen the skills of students interested in careers with nonprofits and government agencies.  Dr. Summers was interim director of the Institute for Nonprofits at NC State University. She has been an adjunct professor at NC State University, the UNC-CH Master of Public Administration  Program, and the Pfeiffer University MBA program.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from UNC-CH, a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Doctorate in Adult Education from NC State University.
